The Book Bowl is a City-wide literacy based program that promotes literacy skills.  Students compete in teams against others to test their superior knowledge regarding 10 preselected books.   Each competitor strives to become an expert on at least two books from the annual list. Students practice and prepare with the help of parent and teacher coaches to battle rivals that are in the same grade level.

The Book Bowl provides a great opportunity to expose our students to some of the very best books by some of the very best children and young adult authors.  Each year a panel of librarians works tediously to engage students by selecting books that reflect a variety of reading levels, genres and subject matters.
